Once a stink bug comes out, the game switches to finding bugs with big or little eyes, adding some extra excitement as the race continues. Vibrant and colorful, it’s perfect for very young children of 3 years plus.
A game of 3 levels making it suitable for multiple age groups, it helps to develop skills in color, number and shape recognition as well as counting and the concept of big and little. It’s a co-operative game, meaning everyone works together towards a common goal.

Set Up – Playing Rules & Instructions
Setting Up
Inside the box you’ll find:
- 1 game board with built in spinner
- 24 colorful bugs
- 3 stink bugs
- 1 die
- Instructions for 3 game levels
Unfold the board and randomly place all of the colorful bugs on it. Next, put the 3 stink bugs and the die next to the board so you’re good to go.
Tip: The object, game end, and set up are the same for all 3 levels of play. Before playing the first time, pop all the bugs out so they’re ready.
Object of the game
All the bold, colorful bugs love to play under the rug. Help all of them get snug under the rug before the 3 stink bugs end up on top of the board and wipe out the game. Manage to do this and you win! However, if 3 stink bugs are on top of the board and there are still colorful bugs out on the board, you lose.
Playing Instructions
Where matching attributes are concerned, there are 3 levels of play: simple color matching, roll and find a match on a spinner then a matching bug, and using a spinner only match the bug with two attributes.
Spin the board and you get a color which you need to match to a bug of the same color. Each time a bug match is found, slide the bug under the board but if there is no match, a stink bug should be put on top of the board.
Keep taking turns until either all of the bugs are under the board or 3 stink bugs are on top of it.

Likes & Dislikes
A game which is engaging yet quick to play, Snug As A Bug In A Rug boasts adorable cardboard bug pieces and three levels of play. With an optimum age range of 2 to 5 years, it’s ideal for practicing the identification of shapes, colors and numbers all in one game. However, children who have not yet mastered basic counting may find this game too difficult and need lots of guidance. Additionally, some pieces are very small and could present a choking hazard so adult supervision is recommended.
