About – Description

Who’s it best suited for?

Predominantly a game for Children, it does provide some light entertainment for families and it is a game that could be brought out at party times. It’s educational in one sense as it does require an element of elimination and investigative questioning.

Skill – Complexity

The game is aimed at children over the age of six which means that it is a very simple game to play.

There are no specific skills required although it is a deduction game and that does require some sort of understanding that relates to asking the right questions as the game progresses.

The playing time is only 20 minutes, proving that it is a quick and simple game to play.

Set Up – Playing Rules & Instructions

Game lovers will be hard pressed to find a game easier than this to set up. Included in the game are two character sheets and two game boards. The character sheets contain individual characters that then have to be placed into the game boards.

Each player selects a character that is hidden from their opponent and then they take it in turns to ask yes or no questions. As the questions are asked the player asking the questions flips the door closed until they are left with the character that they believe the other person has chosen.

The game is based on pure elimination and question work with the winner being the person making the right first guess. However, if a player gets the guess wrong, the opponent wins.

Versions – Editions

There have been a number of editions of Guess Who the board game released throughout the years. This includes a Marvel Heroes Edition, Travel Edition, Pokemon Edition, Star Wars Edition, Disney and Disney Jr Editions, Cars 2 Edition and a Finding Dory edition.

Likes & Dislikes

As the game is aimed at children, it seems as though parents appreciate the fact that this game can be set up in seconds. The fact that it is simple to play and lasts only twenty minutes is what makes it appealing to many.

Parents also like the educational side of it as it does require children to think about the questions that they are asking. It is also possible to download additional characters, giving the game an element of variety.

Final Thoughts

This is a game that really is perfect for children and families. It is so simple to play and encourages children to try out board games. Children can set it up on their own which is always positive for parents who want their children to interact with others.

I see these type of games being great to encourage kids to sit down and interact with each other.
