Skill – Complexity

This is a game that is not too complex to play and it does not require a lot of skill. Players simply have to guess a word on a card without using the tabooed word that is on the list.

So, the board game Taboo is considered to be easy to play and it is more geared towards having fun. It can be played in just 20 minutes meaning that players won’t have to commit a lot of time to the game itself.

Set Up – Playing Rules & Instructions

A simple set up is required for the Taboo. Players are given the cards, a timer and a buzzer, giving them everything they need to begin playing the game.

Players then have to describe the word or phrase on the card that they are shown to their partner. However, they have to do this without using the taboo words on the card.

The player describing the word has to do so within a time limit. Opposing players are given a buzzer which they can use if the player uses one of the taboo words.

Teams get a point if the partner guesses the word that is being described, however, if a card is passed then the opposing team will get the point. The opposing team also gets a point if the describing player uses a taboo word.

The team with the most points wins the game.
