How to Play Boggle Game – Rules & Instructions

Object of the Game!

Players have 3 minutes (after shaking up the box of cubed letters) to create words from the letters showing on the cubed fronts. Letter amounts within a word (more letters = more points) are given points and the person with the highest score wins.

Designate a score or time allowance for games to play to discover an overall winner (e.g., first to 50 points or 30 minutes total play and highest score wins, or winning could be based on how many games won).

Gameplay

Each player is prepared with their pencil and paper. The letter cubes are then shaken inside the closed box and the letters left showing on the top face of the cubes are then used to create words from 3 letters or more.

Start the 3 minute timer…….

Letters cannot be used more than once and letters must be adjoining to create a word (horizontally, vertically or diagonally).

With your paper and pencil in hand, scribble down as many words as you can find within the 3 minutes allowed.

  • The same word multiple times on the grid only counts as one when calculating points.
  • You get points for a single and plural noun (e.g., CAR and CARS).
  • QU cube counts as two letters.
  • Look for unusual words that others might not see, especially long words.
  • The M and W are underlined to enable identification between them.
