Set Up – Playing Rules & Instructions
Blokus consists of a board and 84 pieces split up equally in colors of red, green, blue and yellow. Each color consists of one square piece, one piece with two squares, two pieces with three squares, five pieces with four squares and twelve pieces with five squares.
Each player is given their 21 pieces with the aim of getting them all on the board as quickly as possible.
Players are asked to choose a color and it begins with the first player placing their first piece in the corner, with every player then putting their first piece in all the remaining corners. However, there is an order to the game with the colors being placed in the following order – Blue, Yellow, Red and Green.
The aim is for players to continue to lay down their squares but each new piece has to touch a piece of the same color. The game then ends when all players are unable to make a move and the player with the highest score is the winner.
